A graphite impeller within the vacuum pump may fail, leading to vehicle performance issues. Water ingress can sometimes affect these pumps, but over time, the impeller on the motor spindle may crack or break. A damaged impeller can result in insufficient air pressure or vacuum, impairing the operation of the PSE pump. It may also cause the motor to seize, potentially blowing the 20A fuse and causing the pump to shut down.
