MicoVital Chaga is a food supplement based on the sterile heads of wild chaga (Inonotus obliquus), a rich source of polysaccharides (beta-glucans) and triterpenes, with antioxidant capacity. The product is available in two formats: capsules with the dry extract and in bottles with the liquid extract. For both types of organic chaga extract, only sterile chaga heads are used. They are extracted using ultrasound-assisted technology (UAE), and with hot water and alcohol. Although until a few years ago mushrooms were classified as vegetables, today they are considered to be an independent kingdom equal in rank to animals and plants. They represent an important source of biologically active polysaccharides in fruiting bodies or sterile heads in some cases. Most of these polysaccharides belong to the group of beta-glucans; these have beta-(1—>3) linkages in the main glucan chain and additional beta-(1—>6) branching points that are responsible for the properties of these medicinal mushrooms. Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), also known as charcoal nose or sterile head, is a parasitic mushroom on birch and other trees. The sterile head is irregularly shaped and has the appearance of burnt charcoal. It contains a number of interesting compounds, mainly beta-glucans and triterpenes such as betulinic acid and inotodiol, which are attributed to its health-giving properties. Wild chaga is not easy to harvest. Accessibility issues are compounded by the delay in reaching processing facilities from where it is harvested, a factor that can result in nutrient loss or potential contamination. The chaga used in this product comes from certified organic forests, where it is harvested and transported under very strict standards to ensure quality. And soon, thanks to the efforts of the Finnish government and the forest owners, who have established a program designed to ensure the sustainability of birch forests and secure the supply of chaga, and to which our supplier has been affiliated for years, it will be possible to start harvesting cultivated chaga. The mushrooms are planted on trees that would otherwise be cut down, but will now remain in the forest for about 20 more years. Once the mushrooms are planted, it takes 5 to 8 years for the sterile head to be harvested. Why is MicoVital Chaga extract so special? For both formats of organic chaga extract, only sterile chaga heads are used. Both in the current collection of wild chaga and in the program for collecting cultivated chaga (for some years now, birch trees in certified organic forests have been inoculated) the responsible and versatile use of forests is promoted. The technology “Ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE)”, hot water and alcohol are used. With this innovative extraction method we manage to maximize the bioavailability of the compounds of interest found in chaga. The liquid extract uses Miron violet glass bottles, a unique type of glass container known as biophotonic. Miron glass also filters out harmful rays while filtering out infrared, ultraviolet and violet lights, thus prolonging the shelf life and effectiveness of the product. Due to a particular blend of minerals present inside the Miron glass, this bottle also ensures optimal preservation of nutrients. It is recommended to use 2 pipettes (2ml) or as recommended by an expert. It can be taken by adding it to coffee, tea or smoothies, or directly sublingually.
