Hydrangea Annabelle. New Introduction From U.S.A.

Hydrangea Annabelle \n A large, bushy, deciduous shrub native to the Eastern U.S.A. \nProduces huge, white, ball like flower heads often 8 – 10 inches across in summer. \nAs autumn approaches these large blousy flower heads fade to cream, then pale lime green and finally the blooms of Hydrangea Annabelle turn into papery brown seed heads. \nThese seed heads last for months and make a superb feature in the winter garden, they are also much sought after by flower arrangers for dried bouquets. \nAlthough normally very hardy, Hydrangea Annabelle does need some protection from cold drying winds. \nBecause late frosts can damage new shoots and buds, it is recommended that it should be grown in a sheltered spot or against a wall. \nOne of our loveliest Hydrangea, Annabelle is more tolerant of extreme conditions than some other varieties. \nPrefers a site in full sun or partial shade with moist, well drained, humus rich, fertile soil. \nHydrangea Annabelle should be pruned regularly to remove frost damaged shoots and to help keep the plant compact. \nRemove old flowers and seed heads in early spring. \nRoyal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). \nAll pictures of Hydrangea Annabelle used are of mature plants in bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the plant at all times of the year. \nOur plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions \nTake a look at Other Varieties . \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nA super article on How to Care for your new purchase by hunker can be viewed on this . \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Hydrangea are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. at .  . Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll.
