We’ve talked about the beauty of anthocyanins and betalains in our lighter, tinted lip balms and we are so happy to highlight them again in these non-toxic, 100% plant-based lip colors.  As you can imagine, the process to make pigments from plants is lengthy and precious... Like the majority of our ingredients, these roots grew in the bright sun, soaked in the rain, were pollinated by insects, made it through a full growing season and then had lots-of-human-hands-on to complete their coloring destiny. Within a day of harvest, the root juices are extracted sprayed onto a carrier medium (maltodextrin or acacia gum), dried and milled microfine. They get tested for purity and then shipped to us for blending into our (your) balms. Darker than our popular tints with thicker stay-put-coverage.
