HELLEBORUS sternii \nCommonly known as Stern's Hellebore. \nA handsome, clump forming perennial plant said to be evergreen although it will lose some leaves in a harsh winter or in very exposed areas but these quickly grow back in spring. \nHelleborus sternii leaves have a leathery look, they are glaucous blue-green with three pale-veined leaflets and are borne on purple stems. \nNodding, bowl shaped flowers are carried in open clusters from February through to April. \nCreamy-green in colour the flowers of Helleborus sternii are approx. 3-5cm wide and are also tinted with purplish pink. \nLook great when planted in small groups near the front of the border. \nWill grow in full sun or partial shade but for best results this Hellebore needs a fairly heavy, neutral to alkaline soil. \nOne of the most eye-catching varieties of Helleborus. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year. \nOur Helleborus are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nFor some very helpful advice LearnHowToGrow \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nOur wide and varied range of Perennials can be view here. \nPlease remember, plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Hellebore are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website.
