Geranium Mrs Kendall Clark. Cranesbill.

GERANIUM Mrs Kendall Clark \nCommonly known as Cranesbill and sometimes referred to as Hardy Geranium. \nFirst grown in the British Isles in the 16th century the Cranesbill should not be confused with the half hardy Pelargonium popularly referred to as Geranium. \nUsually found in the herbaceous border where it is used with great success to suppress weed growth. \nThis very popular geranium produces light or violet blue saucer shaped flowers with attractive white or grey veining in mid-summer. \nCut the plants back hard immediately after the first blooms fade and you will be rewarded with a second flush. \nOne of the tallest and most vigorous of the Cranesbills at around 2-3ft Mrs Kendall Clark may need some staking to keep the plants looking neat and tidy in the flowering season. \nA tough all round plant suitable for problem areas and will tolerate cold exposed locations. \n Geraniums will grow happily in any reasonable garden soil in full sun or dappled shade. \n If the plants begin to look scruffy they respond well to being trimmed back. \nLarge or overcrowded clumps of Cranesbill can be lifted and split or divided in March or April. \nKeep for slugs in spring and cut back the stems to ground level in autumn. \nRoyal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in bloom and are for illustration purposes only. They may not reflect plants at all times of the year. \nOur geranium plants of are supplied ex. 10cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions \nJohn Lord has some great hints and tips on this very useful species. \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nOur wide and varied range of Perennials can be view here. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Geranium plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. at .  . Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll.
