Cornus Sibirica. Red Dogwood.
CORNUS Sibirica
\nCommonly known as Red Dogwood.
\nA fast-growing multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with bright, almost cherry red stems in winter.
\nThe leaves of Cornus Sibirica are oval shaped, dark green in summer but turn various shades of yellow and brown before they fall in autumn to reveal the bright winter stems.
\nFlat cymes of white flowers are borne in late spring followed by clusters of bluish-white fruit much beloved by birds.
\nBees and other beneficial insects find the flowers of Cornus Sibirica very attractive.
\nGrows particularly well near water and is very effective when grown in front of a light- coloured background.
\nSuperb with a snowy backdrop or when combined with other Dogwoods with contrasting stem colours especially yellows and purples.
\nPerfect for providing a bold splash of colour to the garden in mid-winter.
\nA very robust shrub, Cornus Sibirica will tolerate a wide range of soils but prefers a moist, damp location.
\nBest winter colour is obtained when grown in full sun and the plant is pruned down to 2-3 buds above ground level in spring.
\nFully hardy, Cornus Sibirica is a striking shrub with year-round interest and makes a wonderful spectacle in a winter garden
\nRoyal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

\nPlease remember plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth.
\nWe ask all our buyers to remember Cornus plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Cornus are checked and inspected visually before packing. . Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Cornus Sibirica . . Buyer in error.
